In May 2020, Georgian Bay and Lake Huron water levels rose to record levels for May. Tobermory Harbour began overflowing its walls on a regular basis (as shown in the photo above at the head of Little Tub harbour). Water levels rose above 177.4 metres above sea level have and stayed there for periods of more than 24 hours, something that happened repeatedly in the summer and fall of 1986 but never before or since. Water levels almost always rise in June.
