DANIELS, Beverley Jane

32

In memory of Beverley Jane Daniels.  Born Feb 25/1938 – Mar. 29/2026. How do you sum up a person’s life?  That is a task of which I hope, I do not fail at, miserably.  Let’s start at the beginning.  Bev was born and raised in London, Ontario sharing a home with 6 siblings and her parents.  She often said her mother and father ran a ‘tight ship’.  I can only surmise that with 7 kids at large, a less stringent form of parenting would only result in mayhem.  Her father, a veteran of WW1, no doubt had a hand in house rules.  1938, a time when your word was a bond and a handshake had meaning.  Beverley espoused these traits in her daily life.  She was a no-nonsense caring woman who looked out for others and was, as they say, ‘generous to a fault’. Here she is, just 21 years old in 1959, out for an evening of dancing and enjoying some room temp. ale, a practise picked up, no doubt, from her British born parents. She worked for several employers over the years, including 10 years at a long-term care facility in Brantford. Bev had the opportunity to do some travelling and managed to experience most of what Canada has to offer.  One of her favourite adventures, attending a Stevie Wonder concert in New York City in the 70’s, was often verbally recollected. (I’m jealous). Beverley moved to Tobermory in the late 80’s after having her little home on the waterfront built.  She worked locally for several years before retirement and spent 38 years enjoying her little slice of paradise on the shores of Lake Huron. Her diligence and self-sacrifice gave her a full life of 88 years.  She was proud of her accomplishments and had little to no regrets. She is and will be missed.  XO. God Speed Beverley. Private family arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton.  Expressions of remembrance to Tobermory Medical Clinic would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.georgefuneralhome.com
