passed away unexpectedly at Brightshores Health System, Lion’s Head, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in his 47th year. Loving husband of 26 years to Stephanie (nee Stewart). Beloved father of Natalie Liverance (Brock), Sahara and Eden Weatherhead. Dear son of Willy and Jennifer Weatherhead. Cherished son-in-law of Connie and the late Allan Stewart. Brother of Dillon Weatherhead (Teresa) and Erin Smith (Bill); and brother-in-law of Julie Hawke (Jason) and Chad Stewart (Melissa). Sadly missed by his many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Cassidy spent his entire life on the Bruce Peninsula, where he built a beautiful life with Stephanie and his three daughters. He was deeply loved within his community, and his many friends will miss his larger-than-life presence. A master of his construction craft, Cassidy left his mark on countless homes across the Peninsula, each reflecting his skill, precision, and pride in his work. A true jack of all trades, Cassidy loved a good challenge and had a lifelong passion for old cars, boats, and engines. Few things made him happier than hearing a classic engine roar back to life. Wherever he went, his dogs were never far behind; Cass always had a big boy by his side, though he occasionally revealed a soft spot for cats as well. Several years ago, he took over the family “Shanty,” a place filled with tradition, laughter, and time spent with those he loved. Cassidy was a joy to be around—full of laughter and camaraderie—and despite his tough exterior, he had a very soft heart. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the first responders and the Lion’s Head Hospital staff for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lion’s Head Arena, 4 Tackabury Street, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. The family warmly welcomes guests to bring their classic cars in Cassidy’s honour. If you have any photos, videos, or memories you would like to share, please email them to stephdweatherhead@gmail.com. Photos of homes or projects Cassidy built are especially appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519-422-0041). Donations to the Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
