Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday October 19th, 2025 at the Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford. Mr. Kalvin Stewart of Simcoe in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Anita Stewart. Loving father of Krista Armstrong (Murray), Chuck Stewart (Linda) and Jill Hunter (Bruce). Cherished grandpa of Amy (Kevin), Sean (Renee), Sloan (Hailey), Samantha (Mike), Taylor, Chase (Brianne) and great grandpa to Kallen and Briar. Dear brother of the late Orville (Norma) and late Irwin Aka Babe (Beulah). Kalvin will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Also known as “KC” he was a proud OPP officer, retiring as a Staff Sergeant after 35 years of service. Retirement years were spent at the old farm on the Bruce Peninsula, affectionately referred to by his friends as Sleepy Meadows, where he tended to the garden, pruned Christmas trees and gathered sap for maple syrup. His time there was shared with family, friends, and The Magnificent Seven, a group of fun-loving local farmers who worked, fished, and hunted together. He treasured having visitors stop in for a wobbly pop, hosting musical performances where on rare occasions he would make a guest appearance on the banjo, and enjoyed nothing more than hustling new comers around the table for their quarters in a round of Liars’ Dice. At Kalvin’s request cremation has taken place. There will be a private family interment at Lions Head Cemetery.
