Families enjoy time at our Dyers Bay cottage. However, we are very disappointed with the frequently unavailable cell phone service.
Northern Bruce Peninsula needs telecommunication wireless technology communication services for the safety of the residents of Dyers Bay and Gillies Lake. Health emergencies, police services and first responders, boaters, hikers, and snowmobilers need access to reliable phone service that doesn’t drop out.
You can’t use a landline if you are stranded on a road, injured on a hiking trail, working in the bush, attacked by a bear, or have an emergency on the water. A dropped fire call could result in the whole area burning! A dropped medical emergency call could result in death.
The article by Joanne Rodgers, Bruce Peninsula Press, states that the addition of another cell tower on Lindsay Road 40 and two other locations to alleviate this situation has been rejected three times by local residents because of EMF radiation concerns and blocked view.
Low frequency to mid-frequency EMFs come from anything that produces or uses electricity. Natural sources also generate EMF radiation. Electromagnetic hypersensitivity can be treated.
Worried about the visual impact of the tower? We all have to learn to live with the visual impact of hydro poles, transformers, and electric power towers that provide power for all our electrical needs.
Why should rural residents have to purchase expensive technology such as iPhone 14, satellite phones and a satellite dish just to have reliable phone and internet service?
This telecommunication structure will comply with Health Canada’s Safety Code 6 limits. It is safe!
