Beloved wife of the late Thomas Hartney. Dearly loved mother of Sandra Hoffer (Case), Carolyn Young and David Hartney (Maria). Cherished grandmother of Jeff (Emma), Erin (Brett), Kim (Mark), Jodi (Shay), Paul (Sandra), Shane (Michelle), Jason (Kim), Matthew (Eiblin), Scott (Samantha), Sarah (Dan) and great-grandmother of Kaitlyn, Laura, Molly, Sammy, Lucas, Evan, Jordin, Ciara, Caeleigh, Mattie, Chase, Madison, Madix, Jaxon, Huxley and Finley.  Dear sister of the late Keith Tribe (late Marjorie), late Fred Tribe (late Hazel), late Bob Tribe (late Tilley), late George Tribe (late Shirley), and late Betty Groat (late Doug). Survived by sister-in-laws Rita Dodkin and Jacquie Hartney. She will be sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews.

Lillian Marie was born on the family farm in Tillsonburg on May 17, 1925, daughter of the late James and Gladys Tribe (Moody).  Family was always her top priority. Marie was a lifetime member of the Tobermory Legion, after serving time as a WREN in WWII.  She was an avid seamstress, quilter and knitter, passing on her love (although not necessarily her talent) to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also had the best legs in town! Our sincere thanks for the tremendous care of the nurses and staff at Valleyview and St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Details for her Celebration of Life will be shared in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Royal Canadian Legion (Branch #290 Tobermory), the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation (MRI) or Hospice of Elgin would be appreciated by the family. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas entrusted with arrangements.
